For more than 30 years, the Adult Day Center has been there to help care for loved ones who are elderly and frail with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia, Parkinson's, or the vestiges of a stroke. Often family members are left with feelings of uncertainty and helplessness about their role as caregivers and are overwhelmed by the competing demands of daily life, earning a living and providing full-time care to their loved one.

Wise & Healthy Aging's Adult Day Center is the only state-designated Alzheimer's Day Care Resource Center on the Los Angeles Westside.

Our compassionate, professional staff are trained to work with those with physical or cognitive impairments and a plan of care is tailored to the needs of each client.

Day services can be an excellent solution for both caregiver and loved one. Numerous studies show that older people who attend adult day centers have a better quality of life, especially those with dementia and other cognitive impairments. Families report that day care helps their loved ones to be more alert and social, lessens depression, improves sleeping patterns, and demonstrates improved physical ability.

The WISE Adult Day Center also offers programming in Spanish through our program “Somos Amigos” (We are Friends). Somos Amigos is a diverse group embracing the cultures and celebrating the traditions of Mexico, Central and South America. We offer 4 days a week of Spanish language activities. Click here for more information on Somos Amigos.

Research-Informed Program to Address Early Memory Loss

For current offerings, click here.

A new diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease or dementia can bring about a host of questions and concerns. What will my future look like? For how long will I be a vital part of my family and community? While there is no cure for most forms of dementia, research suggests that there are ways to potentially slow the progression of many of the symptoms associated with dementia.

Wise & Healthy Aging’s WISE Minds programming empowers individuals in the early stages of dementia to use the very latest research to impact cognitive ability, stress and depression.

  • A setting of support, joyful activity and community.

  • Our research-informed program meets two days each week.

  • Enrichment programming, delivered in a smaller group setting,

  • Wellness promotion with activities that stimulate mind, body and soul.

Our program will not stop dementia-related decline or restore lost abilities. But we offer the best that research has to offer to maximize capabilities.

For more information about WISE Minds or to a schedule a complimentary sample day, call Miriam Caiden at (310) 394-9871, ext. 264, or email mcaiden@wiseandhealthyaging.org.
