Wise & Healthy Aging accomplishes much of what we do with the support of volunteers who contribute so generously of their time and talents each year.

Our volunteers serve in a variety of roles, with unique opportunities depending on the skills and/or time commitment required. We also have volunteer instructors who teach courses in our Club, serve as advocates in our Long-Term Care Ombudsman program, help serve healthy lunches at our Diner, and volunteer in the Adult Day Care.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Front Desk Volunteer

Provide reception, phone coverage, information, and administrative functions to support Wise & Healthy Aging. Welcome visitors and clients, answer questions, and direct them to appropriate staff.  Handle live and voicemail telephone inquiries and/or directing calls to appropriate staff/program.  Outstanding customer service required. Reports to Member Services Supervisor. Flexible Volunteer Shifts of 4 hours, M-F, 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Instructor Volunteer

Give back to older adults by teaching or leading an in-person class. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to teach fitness, arts, language, and other unique specialties. Using your craft, you’ll deliver content that will drive the health and wellness of older adults.  If you have a talent and/or skill, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and passion for serving others, complete the Volunteer Interest Form below. Reports to Member Services Supervisor or Specialist. Flexible Volunteer Shifts starting at 1 hour per week, M-F, 9 am to 3 pm.  Two locations available – Santa Monica & Baldwin Hills.
