Welcome to the new California Elder Justice Workgroup site!
The California Elder Justice Workgroup (CEJW) was created to protect the rights, independence, security, and well being of vulnerable older adults in California by improving the response of the legal, protective services and long term support systems. Its goals are to:- Serve as a united voice for elder justice advocates in California;
- Create dynamic partnerships among service providers, researchers, advocacy groups, commissions, educators, stakeholders, and policy makers to improve service delivery and coordinate response systems;
- Offer expert consultation and technical assistance to policy makers, program developers, academic institutions, advocacy groups, and foundations to ensure that abuse prevention services and policy meet critical needs and are informed by research and practice experience;
- Create mechanisms and opportunities for information sharing, discussion, problem solving, consensus building, collaboration, and collective advocacy;
- Collect, evaluate, and disseminate practice and policy-focused articles, reports, and best practices; and
- Identify unmet needs for services and policy, and offer promising solutions.
