Laraine Mestman is the Program Manager of Elder Abuse Prevention and Program Manager of the ACE (Advocates for Conserved Elders) at WISE & Healthy Aging. Her focus is recruiting, training, and supervising this volunteer-based program to visit elder persons who are under court-ordered conservatorships residing in long term care residential facilities.

Ms. Mestman is a certified paralegal in litigation from the University of California, Los Angeles and holds certificates in facilitation and mediation from the Los Angles County Bar Association Dispute Resolution Services, Straus Institute, Pepperdine, EEOC, and the U.S. Post Office. Ms. Mestman has extensive experience working with the Alternative Dispute Resolution office within the Los Angeles Superior Court system. She has lectured on conflict resolution, trained peer mediators, trained mediator volunteers, served as a mediator for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, US Postal EEO Service, Los Angeles Superior Court, Beverly Hills Small Claims Court, Centinela Youth Services and the West Hollywood office of the LA County Bar Association Dispute Resolution Services.

In addition to her certificates as a paralegal and mediator, Ms. Mestman holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, San Diego.
