Petula Storey

Program Manager, Fraud Prevention Call Center

Petula Storey is the Program Manager of the WISE & Healthy Aging Fraud Prevention Call Center. She manages a Telemarketing Victim Call Center staffed by volunteers and currently funded by the AARP Foundation.

Prior to joining WISE & Healthy Aging, Ms. Storey was Head of Advice and Advocacy for the National Autistic Society in the United Kingdom. In that position, she was responsible for the strategic and operational management of three information and advice services with a total budget of $1 million. With a full-time staff of 19 and more than 19 volunteers, Ms. Storey’ units supported more than 42,000 families a year.

During her time with the National Autistic Society, Ms. Storey initiated a mentoring program for volunteers and supervised an in-house volunteer training program. She also served on a committee that developed the volunteer policy, strategy and publicity for the National Autistic Society.

Her achievements there were recognized by the prestigious British Telecom Award for developing networks across voluntary organizations. The Advocacy Service, under her management, also won The Lawyer magazine’s Corporate Partnership Award for its partnership with the global law firm Clifford Chance. The experience of the Advocacy Service produced an insightful report, which brought about various policy changes due to the close working partnership the service had with the United Kingdom government.

Ms. Storey holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Sydney, Australia. After completing her education, Ms. Storey relocated to England where she worked with a number of different community outreach programs including Amnesty International and Action Aid.
