Board your flight for an adventure of a lifetime. Flight is in the evening, on Air Zealand. Day 2 & 3: Cairns, Australia
On arrival in Cairns, meet your Tour Director and transfer to your hotel for a three night stay. Cairns is the heart of the Tropical North, and provides an ideal base for exploring the rich and varied treasures of this area. Tropical North Queensland is a vast region stretching from reefs and islands, through coastal wetlands to mountains, tablelands and grassland. This evening enjoy a special Welcome Dinner with your fellow travelers.
Meal - (Dinner) Overnight: Cairns
Day 4: Great Barrier Reef
Today experience the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy a Catamaran Cruise to Green Island, which offers everything you can dream of in a tropical island paradise. Your day includes morning tea, snorkel equipment or glass bottom boat coral viewing and a guided Eco Island Walk. Upon return to Cairns, the remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 5: Cairns - Kuranda Rail
Today, transfer to Freshwater Station to board the Kuranda Scenic Rail. This rail journey winds through dense tropical forests, past majestic waterfalls and over almost bottomless ravines. On arrival in Kuranda, the quaint village in the rainforest, enjoy some leisure time. Next visit the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park to experience and interact with Australia’s 40,000 year old aboriginal culture. Tonight enjoy dinner at a popular local seafood restaurant in Cairns.

Day 6: Cairns - Sydney
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Sydney. Upon arrival enjoy a Sydney City Tour including the Botanical Gardens, the Music Conservatory, Kings Cross, Chinatown, Paddington and a stop for spectacular views & photos of the Sydney Opera House. Next enjoy an Opal Presentation to learn how these raw gemstones are processed.

Today, experience a Taronga Zoo Breakfast for an upclose encounter with local animals. After breakfast, explore the zoo, situated on the shores of the Sydney Harbor. Later enjoy a Rocks Walking Tour, one of Sydney’s oldest suburbs filled with restored buildings and the sight of Australia’s first European settlement. Later visit & tour the Sydney Opera House. Next enjoy a special Sydney Harbor Luncheon Cruise. The evening is at leisure to experience one of Sydney’s many fine restaurants.

Day 8: Sydney at Leisure

Day 9: Sydney - Canberra - Melbourne
Enjoy the countryside as you travel to Canberra. Upon arrival, embark on a Canberra City Tour to see the billion dollar New Parliament House, the High Court of Australia, the National Library, Lake Burley Griffin & Queen’s Terrace for sweeping views of Canberra. Next visit an Aussie Sheep Station to learn about this unique way of life and enjoy an authentic Aussie BBQ Lunch. Next board your short flight to Melbourne for a three night stay.

Today embark on the Puffing Billy Rail Journey, an historic steam train in the Melbourne area. Enjoy mountain scenery and panoramic views from your train car. Next visit the Koala Conservation Center to view these cuddly creatures up close. Later travel to Phillip Island, a renowned nature reserve to enjoy the world famous Little Penguin Parade. At sunset, the world’s smallest penguins emerge from the sea and waddle ashore to their sand dune burrows. Phillip Island is one of the few areas in the world where this unique species of penguin can be seen. Tonight enjoy dinner on Phillip Island.

Day 12: Melbourne - Christchurch, New Zealand
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Christchurch, New Zealand. Nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu on the South Island of New Zealand, Queenstown is a year-round mountain resort enjoying a magnificent setting amid the steep Remarkables Range & pockets of native bush. A mysterious phenomenon causes Lake Wakatipu to vary several inches in depth every few minutes, giving credence to a Maori legend of an ancient Taniwha (demon) still breathing beneath the surface. This evening enjoy dinner in the Christchurch Tramway Restaurant where dining is not only a culinary delight but also a trip back into history.

Day 13: Christchurch to Queenstown
Today travel across New Zealand’s spectacular Southern Alps, you will marvel at the snowcapped peaks and beautiful river gorges as you wind your way past waterfalls and rugged mountain scenery enroute to Queenstown. Enjoy a Milford Sound Luncheon Cruise for breathtaking scenery and commentary on the natural history of the Sound. Optional scenic flights are available back to Queenstown (weather permitting).

Day 15: Queenstown - Rotorua
Transfer to the airport this morning for your flight to Rotorua, situated on New Zealand’s North Island. Enjoy the evening at leisure to explore Rotorua at your own pace. This evening enjoy a Maori Hangi Feast featuring a traditional meal & performance.
