WISE & Healthy Aging is seeking a candidate to fill a Senior Accounting Manager position. Under the direction of the Finance Director, the Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for the management of financial resources of the organization including accounting, finance, budgets and treasury in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The position will also assist in safeguarding assets through maintenance of proper controls.In collaboration with the Finance Director, work in the compliance, maintenance, documentation and monitoring of the organization’s fiscal procedures (adherence to accounting principles and standards and IRS regulations); data collection and preparation of financial reports needed for meeting all contractual obligations, accuracy of the organization’s general ledger postings, generation of monthly financial statements; accounts and grants payable management, manage internal and external audits and comply with all audits by government agencies who contract with organization, and budget preparation for government funding sources as well as grants and contract allocations, and budgets for funding proposals
BA in Accounting and/or Finance required. Master’s degree in Finance preferred. Five-years experience in a position with similar responsibilities. Knowledge of advanced accounting experience, including knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Advance skills in Excel and proficiency in Word required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy. The successful candidate must obtain a background clearance.
Position: Advocated for Conserved Elders (ACE) Program Coordinator
Program: Elder Abuse Prevention Program
Location: Santa Monica Main Office
The Program Coordinator will coordinate and manage the various activities of the ACE (Advocates for Conserved Elders) Program; a collaboration/liaison between WISE & Healthy Aging, the Superior Court of California, Los Angeles, and the ACE volunteers. The Program Coordinator will manage all aspects and functions of the ACE Program, including program development and implementation of program changes. The successful candidate will follow the policies and procedures stated in the ACE Program core curriculum and grant requirements, ensuring the program is in compliance with all grant guidelines – program performance accounted for in monthly reports; data collection instruments are properly executed and transmitted as scheduled; the implementation of a comprehensive training program utilizing the curriculum as developed by the Superior Court of California, Los Angeles, WISE & Healthy Aging; and assessment of “client” satisfaction. The Program Manager will also recruit, orient, train, monitor and evaluate ACE Program volunteers.Master's degree preferred. BS degree in gerontology, human services, social science or a related field and two years experience in gerontology, social work, long term care advocacy or related areas. Candidate must be computer literate and have reliable transportation. Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills as well as a willingness to be flexible are a requirement for all interested candidates. The successful candidate must obtain a background clearance.
