Barbara Harrison


Barbara Harrison joined WISE Senior Services in March 1988, as its Transportation Coordinator. Currently, as director, she is responsible for managing the education and outreach program for Santa Monica’s Dial-A-Ride Transportation program, facilitating access to paratransit and transit services for seniors and disabled adults to enable them to maintain their independence and mobility.

Ms. Harrison's duties include the daily operations of the program, marketing and outreach and designing and administering an educational and outreach program for Santa Monica seniors and disabled residents. She develops training materials, collaborates and provides training and consultation to the City of Santa Monica’s Transit Services Department on mobility issues for seniors and disabled adults. She is also responsible for providing case management and resolution of mobility and transportation issues for clients and their caregivers.

Ms. Harrison holds a bachelor’s degree in home economics education and did post graduate work in dietetics at Tuskegee University prior to entering and completing the VA-UCLA one year graduate dietetic internship program in Los Angeles.
